New Text Element and WYSIWYG Editor

We're making some improvements to our text element editor, which is one of the most commonly used tools on the system. Please beaware that after Sunday night, July 20, 2007 the text editor will look and feel a little different. Here's a summary of the changes you'll see:

  1. LESS STUFF -- One of the advantages of ImmerseEdit is that you have complete control of the content, but have limited control over how your content impacts your design. For each of our clients designs, we've developed specific style sheets to match the branding of their site. To maintain your design's integrity, we're reducing the number of controls available in the text element. For example, you will find that you no longer are able to select font faces, sizes, or colors. Instead, they will be limited to selecting styles from your site's style sheets. So this means that you still have the ability to modify the font size, color, etc. we would just need to style that for you in your style sheet.

  2. BUG FIXES -- There were several minor issues with the previous version that we've knocked out in this new release. Most notably, the editor now does a better job of enclosing your paragraphs in <p> tags and facilitating list items inside ordered and unordered lists. In general, it just works a lot better.

NOTE:  If you want the very first text you start typing into the editor to be enclosed in a paragraph, first hit "enter" once, then enter your content.  If you forget, you can also use the new "paragraph" icon on the toolbar to quickly markup any text as a paragraph.
